Art Market Budapest
This October art fair takes place in the attractive cultural city of Budapest. As Contemporary Istanbul in Turkey or Art Vilnius in Lituania, Art Market Budapest in the only fair in the country and thus plays an important part in the development of the regional art market. It was established in 2011 with an aim to raise awareness of the Central and Eastern European art scene. Over the 4-day event, approximately 30,000 visitors can admire and purchase sculpture, painting and works of art from new and established artists. The event focuses on bringing together the artists and the general public in an informative way. Alongside the exhibition itself, educational talks, interviews with artists and book launches take place helping to encourage an interest in the region’s contemporary art.
