Superfine! Art Fair Los Angeles
Superfine! Art Fair brings contemporary art to newcomers, dealers and serious collectors. Founded to offer transparent pricing and affordable art, there are now 6 different cities that host one of these informal and welcoming shows: Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington. Superfine! Los Angeles, held in February, is divided into several sections. There are sections devoted to well-known names, emerging talent, prints, solo artists from L.A. and solo artists from the rest of the world. Art works from as little as $100 can be purchased at the fair. With artists on hand to discuss and share their ideas, and an atmosphere that encourages questions and networking, Superfine! Art Fair LA is the ideal fair for new collectors to purchase their first pieces.

What is Superfine! Los Angeles DNA?
Los Angeles is one of the most exciting cities in the United States right now. Its weaknesses become its strengths – because it’s such a vast city there are so many nooks and crannies for nascent scenes to develop within. That means food, film, culture, and of course art. We synthesize all of that together into Superfine! Art Fair in LA each February, and bring top global emerging artist talent to the table as well.
What type of galleries are chosen to exhibit, and why?
Like our other art fairs, Superfine! Art Fair in LA is an artist-driven fair. That means the vast majority of our exhibitors are awesome, professional independent artists. We feel this is the wave of the art future, and our clients (both sets of them) agree.
What is the price range? Who buy?
Most works sold at Superfine! Art Fair in LA fall in the $500-$5,000 range, with some larger pieces selling in the $5k-$15k range (all prices at Superfine! top out at $15k.) We also see an outsized number of young collectors who buy works from $100-$500, which is such an amazing thing to see.
“We’re the most high quality and curated artist-driven art fair not only in LA but in the country.”

Is there a typical Superfine! LA visitor?
Our visitors in LA tend to be really stylish, design-oriented, creative folks. We of course get a lot of people from the film industry, along with a large LGBTQ+ component. We’ve always been queer-forward in our program and that resonates especially with our LA audience. I’d say most of our visitors have bought a new home in the past couple of years and are really starting to embark on their art and design collecting journey in full force.
What is Superfine! LA special appeal?
We’re the only fully accessibly minded art fair that calls LA home, and we’re the most high quality and curated artist-driven art fair not only in LA but in the country. On top of that, we really honor the mix of LA identities in our program.
What are two other art fairs you would suggest?
The LA Art Show is a fantastic wonderland of almost every style of art and design you could imagine. Definitely visit their Littletopia section for a glimpse at the newest trends in New Contemporary and Lowbrow art. In San Francisco, Art Market San Francisco is a wonderful show as well and definitely worth the trip when they host their San Francisco art fair in April.
