DDESSINPARIS
Created in 2013 by Eve de Medeiros, DDESSINPARIS is exclusively dedicated to contemporary drawing. For more than 10 years, the fair’s mission has been to promote both emerging and more established artists by inviting a dozen French and international galleries. Over the years, DDESSIN has established itself as a key event of the drawing week in Paris. DDESSINPARIS was held from the beginning at the Atelier Richelier, then at the Molière during the Covid. For this year, DDESSINPARIS takes place at the Domus Maubourg. Moreover, its intimate format allows to create real discussions between gallery owners, artists, collectors and amateurs. Finally, at each edition since its creation, an artist is awarded the DDESSINPARIS Prize.

What would you say is the DNA of DDESSINPARIS?
Created in 2013, DDESSINPARIS is to make drawing – in all its forms – known and recognized as a medium in its own right on the art market and thus to present the artists of the young contemporary drawing scene alongside a more established art scene.
What type of galleries are chosen to exhibit, and why?
All types of galleries, presenting artists from the young contemporary art scene. The choice is made with regard to new graphic identities proposed by the galleries but also those having in their line “new territories” not visible on the art market. This was notably the case of artists from the African continent and its diaspora in 2013.
What is the price range of pieces? Who is the average buyer?
From 1 000 euros to 15 000 euros. There are all types of buyers: informed collectors as young collectors.
