This year, Art Paris celebrated its 25th anniversary. This anniversary edition brang together 134 galleries from 25 countries at the Grand Palais Éphémère. Buoyed by the success of its previous editions, the 2023 selection continued the fair’s upmarket approach, with a 33% renewal of the exhibitor list (i.e. 43 new galleries compared to 2022) and the presence of major galleries that have established themselves in the fair. 60% of the exhibitors were French and 40% were foreign. Art Paris had chosen two strong themes for this year’s edition: Commitment (curated by Marc Donnadieu) and Exile (curated by Amanda Abi Khalil). In parallel to this and the general sector, the ‘Promises’ sector featured nine young galleries less than six years old who were presenting a maximum of three emerging artists. 45% of the cost of participation was covered by the fair. Finally, sixteen solo shows, scattered throughout the fair, allowed the public to discover or rediscover in depth the work of modern, contemporary or emerging artists.
