Independent Art Fair
Known for its club-like atmosphere, Independent aims to offer a different experience to more conventional art fairs. First conceived in 2009, this show is indeed presented without clearly defined booths. This truly create a free-flowing gallery space that feels more like an exhibition than a marketplace. Approximately 40 exhibitors, who mainly hail from the USA, are invited to display their work. The organisers try every year to showcase many different kinds of mediums at their curated show, so there is something for all tastes. The result is a show with a maverick flair that always surprises and excites its visitors and encourages new interest and fresh thinking about contemporary art. The fair takes place annually in the busy month of March, at the same time as for instance The Armory Show, VOLTA, Clio Art Fair or SCOPE Art Show.
