Art Düsseldorf

Taking place in November, few days before the nearby Cologne Fine Art & Design, Art Düsseldorf was first launched in 2017 with an aim to strengthen the city’s cultural scene and to promote post-war, modern and contemporary art from the Rhineland. It offers an exciting opportunity for emerging artists to be discovered and for newcomers to this art form to be educated and inspired. Art Düsseldorf is a new fair, but it has quickly expanded with more than 90 galleries exhibiting and in excess of 40,000 visitors attending the event. We can see for example seasoned buyers and art dealers alonside families and simply curious. Around 50 per cent of the work in the show originates from Germany, with the remainder being international work from around the globe. Large sculptures and wall art are displayed within the impressive Areal Bohler building that provides an industrial backdrop to the event.
