TEFAF Maastricht, the world’s largest generalist fair for antique art, was back to its traditional dates, after a fairly hot 2022 edition in June. The fair is a must for dealers who exhibit their most beautiful and sometimes unseen pieces. 270 hand-picked galleries from over 20 countries came together at the traditional MECC on the outskirts of the city. Experienced collectors, professionals and amateurs alike were able to stroll through the elegant aisles and admire the works of art on display: Old Master paintings, antiques and classical antiques, modern and contemporary art, jewellery, 20th-century design and works on paper. Each sector had its own surprises in store, with works often exceeding one million euros.
In addition to the fair itself, TEFAF offered an online presentation, a wide range of talks and tours, as well as Meet the Experts, an interesting program of interactive conversations with internationally prominent exhibitors, centering on major object highlights across the fair.
